Saturday was dark. One might say, the darkest of hours. Utter emptiness.
As a friend of mine likes to say, let’s “step into the sandals” of the disciples once again. Go back with me to the day after the crucifixion. Remember, “Good Friday.” Can you even imagine?
I’m not sure about you, but I have had a few experiences that left ringing in my ears. Though I have never been at war, in the traditional sense, I imagine it must be similar. When you open your eyes and look around, it’s as if everything is suspended in mid air. If feels as though the hands on the clock are spinning at a feverish pace, but movement slows to a crawl. Everything inside feels like a tornado, while on the outside there isn’t even a wisp of a breeze.
At times, even frightening to take a breath.
The disciples were just last week parading into town with Jesus riding a donkey while the crowd shouted “Hosanna!” And now? Images of that same Jesus nailed to a tree are burned into the recesses of their minds.
How can this be?

Friend I don’t know if you’re feeling lost right now, but I do know the One who knows right where you are. You’ve never been, nor will you ever be lost to Him.
In this strange time we are living, now more than ever, it can be quite unsettling to be so isolated. But, the Good News is that if you’ve given everything over to Jesus, you are never alone.
“And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.”
Ephesians 1:13
You see when you “surrender all“, as my friend Sharon Glasgow likes to say, you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit who is not only our seal, but also our intermediary to God himself when we don’t know how or what to pray for (Romans 8:26). And not only is He all that, but He is also the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the grave. And not only that, He IS God.
The tomb is empty my friend. He isn’t there.
Only this is the greatest emptiness. The most fulfilling emptiness. An emptiness I invite you to experience if you never have before. Now is the time, Jesus is calling YOU to Himself.
“We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
Hebrews 10:10
Christ the Lord is RISEN!
Hallelujah!

I would be remiss not to invite you into a personal and saving relationship with Christ. Have you never done so? Did you pray a prayer one time before but want to recommit yourself and surrender all to Jesus? I would love to pray with! Will you let me know below? Or perhaps have a prayer request, praise or something else – let me know.
Thank you for these encouraging words of truth; He is RISEN!!!
